Commissioners from Port, PUD and County to Meet

The Board of Commissioners for three County Entities will meet in a special session to discuss County-wide issues, updates and impacts.

The meeting is open to the public and will take place on Tuesday, June 5th, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Confluence Technology Center in Wenatchee.

Each of the three agencies will have a portion of the agenda which includes:

Chelan County Port District

  • Pangborn Airport long-term financial sustainable issues
  • Cashmere mill site development project
  • Port District support for economic development organizations
  • Tech incubator at Pybus Public Market and growing technology in the County

Chelan County

  • Proposed County/PUD partnership for electrical service connections and building permis
  • Community development zoning and availability of electrical service
  • Concept – cluster developments with space reserved for substations

Chelan County PUD

  • Cryptocurrency miners and energy demand
  • Joint planning for electrical load growth
  • Wenatchee Works status report
  • PUD’s long-range facilities planning
  • Planning for climate change impacts

There is also space on the agenda for comments from the mayors of various cities throughout Chelan County.
