Join the Celebration with a Day Full of Family-Friendly Fun

Chelan’s 29th annual Earth Day Fair will take place Saturday at Riverwalk Park in Chelan with a full day of food, live music, arts & crafts, demonstrations and more. Earth Day is an event celebrated worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection.

12 electric vehicles will be on display including cars, motorcycles and even a full-size Link bus. The spotlight vehicle will be the Tesla Model 3.

Additional displays and activities include the Hospital EMS Bike Check and free bike helmets, a kids tree house play area, Rotary-shelter box, and planet walk.

Also, a part of the celebration will be the Earth Day Book Sale presented by Chelan Friends of the Public Library. Select from paperbacks, hardbound and children’s books in addition to DVD’s and CD’s. Starting at 2pm it’s the always popular bag sale. Stuff your bag with as many items as you can fit for only $2.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Windermere Lake Chelan is providing free shreddng services. Bring your old bills and sensistive documents to the parking lot behind the Fire Station for shredding. Windermere Broker, Kara Schell said food donations will be accepted to benefit the Chelan Food Bank, and any cash donations will benefit the Chelan County Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to all the booths, displays and activities, the Earth Day Fair provides back to back entertainment.

This year’s line up kicks off at 9:00 a.m. with Savanna Woods – a 23-year-old singer/songwriter from the Seattle area.

At 10:00 a.m., welcome the Saddle Rockers – five friends who play a repertoire of music ranging from bluegrass to vintage rock.

Local favorites Rolf Vegdahl and Gary Myers will take to the stage at 11:30 a.m. for some fun guitar playing and harmonies.

At Noon, the Kevin Jones Band will take center stage to offer their familiar great sound, with tight harmony vocals, and will introduce a few new tunes.

The Chelan Dance Centre gives their annual performance at 1:30 p.m. There’s nothing cuter than these talented young dancers.

At 2:00 p.m., you’ll get a sneak peak at the 2nd Annual Trashion Show.

Kevin Jones will be making an encore appearance at 2:30 p.m. when he joins Mugsy’s Groove – a high-energy trio that melds pop, soul, funk and more.
